I am Jan-Niclas Weiglein - the founder of MR HANDSOME. In this blog post, you will learn more about my founding story, my motivation, and my personal development from 2021 to 2026.
2021. Extremely oily skin and persistent blemishes plagued me well into adulthood, often leading to personal insecurities. After much effort, I learned that healthy skin primarily depends on three factors that you control yourself: a conscious diet, regular exercise, and the right skincare. Conventional skincare products and so-called “pimple killers” only trapped my skin in an unnatural dependency, where any break led to severe boomerang effects. The radical switch to natural cosmetics demanded a tough, approximately three-week withdrawal phase during which my skin initially worsened, but the discipline absolutely paid off: the breakouts stopped, I received compliments on the improvement of my skin, and experienced a completely new self-confidence. It was precisely from these personal experiences that I founded MR HANDSOME. At the beginning, MR HANDSOME did not have its own products but specialized in distributing European niche brands.
2026. Five years is a long time. The original motivation has remained the same. To this day, I want to help other men on their way to healthy skin and raise their awareness of ingredients and their effects. Nevertheless, a lot has changed in the last five years. At the end of 2022, the first products from my brand MR HANDSOME were launched. Meanwhile, I only sell my own brand and its own products. I have gradually expanded MR HANDSOME's product range and decide independently which products you will find here. I design all products myself with great attention to detail and passion.
One thing, however, has not changed since 2021: I still run MR HANDSOME as a one-man business. I hope that changes soon.
With a personal profile, I would also like to introduce myself privately:
- I was born in 1988 and my zodiac sign is Sagittarius
- I exercise almost daily. My athletic passion includes sweaty sessions on my rowing machine as well as calisthenics workouts
- My rowing record is 30km non-stop in about 2 hours
- I have a great interest in history
- I enjoy reading and occasionally write myself
- I prefer to read American, German, and Russian literature
- I like the USA
- I am a confessing Christian and practice the Roman Catholic faith
- I attend the Latin Mass according to the Old Rite
- I like the sound of the Latin language
- I spend a lot of time in nature and enjoy long walks in the forest
- I like hazelnut trees
- I am a fan of Kickers Offenbach
- My favorite painting is "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog" by Caspar David Friedrich
- I have a fondness for old European furniture
- My favorite meal is char with green asparagus and potatoes
- I prefer beer to wine
- My favorite color is dark blue
- I am blessed with full hair and natural curls
- I have little beard growth and only need to shave 1-2 times a week
- I hate ironing, do not own an iron, and only buy iron-free shirts
- I am not married and have no children. I hope that changes soon
